Invest Qatar Entrepreneur and Executive Residency
Administered through Invest Qatar. The Entrepreneur Residency requires incubator endorsement rather than a large capital sum; the Executive Residency targets existing QID-holding senior management.
At QAR 250,000 the entrepreneur route is the cheapest Gulf business residency by a wide margin, but the incubator endorsement gate is real and discretionary. The 10-year executive route is quietly the best-value Qatari status for anyone already holding a senior Doha role.
Qualifying routes
QAR 250,000 (roughly USD 68,700), 5 years renewable. Requires endorsement from a recognised incubator (QSTP, Qatar FinTech Hub, QBIC, Scale7) plus a bank balance of QAR 36,500 (or USD 10,000 if applying from overseas). Government fee QAR 5,000.
Up to 10 years for existing QID holders: CEO/COO/CTO/CFO/Chairman at QAR 50,000 per month; other executive directors at QAR 80,000 per month; 5 years' senior management experience required.

- Incubator endorsement is discretionary with no published objective test and no appeal.
- A separate 10-year Entrepreneur Residency was announced by the Prime Minister at Web Summit Qatar on 2 February 2026 but is NOT open — officials have said further circulars will precede launch and no implementation date exists. Do not let anyone sell you this.
- The executive route depends on maintaining the qualifying role and salary.
- Qatar's startup ecosystem is small; incubator capacity is a genuine bottleneck.
