Australia · Talent & extraordinary ability
Global Talent Visa Programme
Superseded on 7 December 2024. The Global Talent visa used subclass 858 and that subclass now carries the National Innovation Visa — the number survived, the programme did not. GTV's target-sector list, income threshold guidance and comparatively generous invitation rate are all gone.
Because the subclass number did not change, a great deal of GTV-era marketing still reads as current and is not. The salary-threshold guidance that made GTV navigable for senior corporate hires has no counterpart under the NIV, which asks for international eminence instead.

- Material describing 'subclass 858 Global Talent' with an income threshold describes a dead programme, however recent the page's date.
- GTV was materially easier to obtain than the NIV. Historic approval rates are not a guide to current odds.
