Vietnam Golden Visa
NOT LAUNCHED as at July 2026. Despite persistent reporting since 2025 describing a 5- or 10-year Vietnamese golden visa, no legislation has been enacted, no application process exists, and no confirmed launch date has been published. The Ministry of Public Security reviewed a draft decree in July 2025; it has not been promulgated. Treat all circulating thresholds as speculative.
We list this specifically to mark it as vapour. Multiple agencies have been marketing a 'Vietnam Golden Visa' since 2025 and taking enquiries against a programme that does not exist. If someone is offering to process your Vietnamese golden visa application today, they are selling something that has not been legislated.
Qualifying routes
Reported drafts describe visas of up to 10 years for high-value residents and a 5-year waiver for investors, researchers and athletes, with possible pilots in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Phu Quoc. No thresholds are confirmed

- The programme does not exist. No decree has been promulgated, no thresholds are set, and no applications can be filed. Do not pay a retainer against it.
- Vietnamese legislative timelines are opaque and draft decrees have stalled before. A 2025 draft is not evidence of a 2026 launch.
- Vietnam taxes residents on worldwide income at up to 35% with no special regime. Even if the visa launches, the tax case is weak for a UHNW family.
- Foreign individuals face significant restrictions on Vietnamese land and property ownership.
