Long-Term Residence Permit for the Purpose of Investment

Open Last verified July 2026

Open, but this is an industrial-investment permit rather than a wealth-migration product and is not competitive as a golden visa.

Roughly EUR 3m plus 20 jobs for a two-year renewable permit with no citizenship shortcut. The honest advice is that this is not a golden visa and should not be sold as one — recommend it only where the client was investing at that scale anyway for commercial reasons.

What can go wrong
  • No citizenship shortcut whatsoever — the clock still runs 10 years, or 5 after permanent residence.
  • The 20-job requirement must be sustained for at least 2 years, and the jobs must be for EU citizens or their family members.
  • A 2-year permit for a EUR 3m commitment compares poorly with every other route in this file.
  • Specialist surveys of open European golden visas correctly omit Czechia — this is not a wealth-migration product.
