Barbados Welcome Stamp
Open — but legally authorised only to 31 December 2026. The programme rests on the Remote Employment Act 2020 (as amended 2023) and a Cabinet decision of 26 October 2023 renewing it to that date. We could find NO authority extending it beyond 31 December 2026.
Most people read this as a lifestyle product. The real strategic value is that Welcome Stamp years are aggregable toward the 5-year immigrant status clock — so USD 2,000 a year buys the cheapest possible start on a genuine path to a 163-destination passport with dual citizenship permitted. Nobody markets it this way.
Qualifying routes
12-month permit. Renewal at BBD 3,000 (roughly USD 1,500) — a 25% discount.
12-month permit covering the family. Renewal at BBD 4,500 (roughly USD 2,250).

- The programme's authorisation expires on 31 December 2026 — roughly five months from now — and we found no extension. It has been renewed before and uptake is strong (5,164 applications and 3,058 approvals to 30 April 2024), so renewal is plausible. But a client applying in, say, October 2026 for a 12-month stamp may be relying on an authorisation that expires mid-permit. Do not represent this as durable without direct confirmation from Barbados Immigration.
- Work is restricted to overseas entities and clients. Local employment is strictly prohibited.
- Welcome Stamp holders are exempt from Barbados income tax — which also means these years do not make you a Barbados tax resident. If the goal is to break tax residency elsewhere, the Welcome Stamp alone may not achieve it; the 182-day test still governs Barbados tax residence.
- Health insurance covering the whole period is mandatory.
